The Trudy Thomson Learning Centre was officially opened by The Honourable Martin Dixon, Minister for Education, on 18 November 2011 in the presence of former College Principal, Ms Trudy Thomson and other official guests.

Current Principal Ms Karen Terry praised the work of May Constructions in transforming the out-dated building into a facility "that excites and inspires staff and students."

"Thank you to May Constructions, our builders, who have made having a building site on campus not only worthwhile in the end, but fairly stress-free for the duration."

Ms Terry went on to say; "The space is well provisioned in terms of technology. Interactive projectors turn any surface into an interactive whiteboard and the KINECT sensors allow interaction with the digital world through hand and body gestures. We have both wired and wireless connectivity. Together with our online world this space becomes a remarkable staging point for innovation and creativity.

This new facility will enhance our approach to interdisciplinary and inquiry learning, and open the doors to many different exciting possibilities for innovative teaching. The building has already been trialed by a number of teachers collaborating with each other to produce dynamic and student centred classroom experiences."

Ms Thomson also praised May Constructions for previous work in refurbishing and extending the College Music and Performing Arts Centre during her tenure as Principal.

College President, Mr Sam Lombardo, said that it had been a pleasure to have May Constructions working at the College.
